Why children in Singapore need sunglasses all year round
With its tropical climate and location close to the equator, Singapore experiences strong UV radiation throughout the year, not just during a particular summer season.
According to Singapore's National Environment Agency (NEA), UV levels commonly reach Very High or Extreme between 11am and 3pm on days with little cloud cover.
Children's developing eyes are particularly vulnerable to UV exposure, making good-quality sunglasses an important part of sun protection from an early age.
Remember, if parents are wearing sunglasses to protect their eyes, their kids should be too!

Why choose wraparound sunglasses for kids?
Not all children's sunglasses provide the same coverage.
Traditional fashion sunglasses can leave large gaps around the sides of the face, allowing sunlight to reach the eyes from different angles.

Singapore's HealthHub actively encourages outdoor play for children's eye health and specifically recommends wearing a cap and sunglasses for sun protection.
Three sizes, designed for growing kids
A good fit matters. Sunglasses that are too large can slip down little noses or leave unnecessary gaps around the face.
Rather than offering one-size-fits-all children's sunglasses, Snugsee comes in three sizes designed for different age groups:

Extra coverage for children who need it
For children who benefit from an even closer fit, we've also developed our Snug Fit sunglasses.
These feature soft, ventilated Snug Shield cushioning around the inside of the frame, helping minimise gaps around the eyes and providing an additional physical barrier against wind, sand, sea spray, dust and other airborne irritants.
They're a practical option for beach days, breezy coastal walks or children with particularly sensitive eyes.
For general sun protection and outdoor play, our lightweight Classic Fit collection offers the same signature wraparound shape without the additional cushioning.
